Having established what direction each artist wanted to explore, the morning workshop session had the group either paired up or wandering off to think up lines (as was necessary). The Goethe-Institut auditorium was filled with music and murmurings as artists sounded out their scribbled lines. After the lunch break, those who felt ready went to a recording studio set up for the purposes of capturing the freshly brewed SPOKEN WOR:L:DS magic.

At night SPOKEN WOR:L:DS took over the IMAX cinema hall for the Kwani Open Mic: Special Edition. Before a curious audience, a section of the group shared various artistic expressions including rap, poetry, spoken word, beatboxing and storytelling – in German, Swahili, English, Sheng, Portuguese…




The evening ended with a visit to club Choices for the weekly Hip Hop Rapsody where MC Diamondog put on his DJ hat and took over the wheels of steels supported by some spontaneous freestyle backup by his colleagues.
